Val Herner - Senior Financial Advisor

Val has been in this industry since 2001, creating Herner Financial Services to help people looking for financial freedom in Ontario. Val has been with several large industry dealers throughout his career, which gave him the edge, and experience to provide exceptional service to his clients. Many of Val’s clients brought their families, and remain close friends with him, reflecting his commitment to providing quality service, and most importantly— results. Val and his son Victor are now working as a team, carrying the family name through a business built on helping people live better lives.
Val’s hobbies include hunting, meat smoking, gardening, and hiking with his family.
Victor Herner - Financial Advisor

Victor got his start in the industry in April 2021, working at Primerica and following in his father’s footsteps, who started at Primerica as well in 2001. Victor then joined Herner Financial Services in May of 2022, working alongside his father Val to keep the business growing. He graduated from Niagara College in 2023, obtaining his business diploma, and works towards bringing financial freedom and security to Ontarians, through investments and insurance. His passion for the industry became more solidified throughout college, as he gained a deeper understanding of micro/macro economics.
Victor enjoys programming, and creating music in his personal time.
Janice McKenna - Administrative Assistant

Janice plays a vital role in our team as an administrative assistant and office manager, with her extensive experience in this role, and this industry. Janice has worked with Val at a previous dealer, as a head office administrator for mutual funds. Janice is a very important member of the team, and is happy to be a part of Herner Financial Services. She has lived in St. Catharines for her whole life, and obtained her BSc and BED from Brock University.
Janice enjoys kayaking, and playing volleyball with her family.
